The church I attend plays soccer every other Saturday. I am not an avid soccer player, but I would like to get some more excercise and spend time with my friends from church.
Well, work has prohibited me thus far. It has been a busy season, and although I still have much work to do, I feel that I can actually do something that I would enjoy.
So I will, in about an hour or two, be in an emergency room. That is right, I am quite sure that after just five minutes of running I will be exhausted and will need to be taken off the field and taken by ambulance to the nearest ER.
Better go... break a leg.

First I get Soccer Saturday emails now blog posts...and I don't even go to your church!!
Okay, I am back from playing soccer.
The docter in the emergency room said I sprained my... okay, so I didn't end up in the ER. But there were times I thought I might end up there.
I played defense, or at least that is what my responsibility was. We lost 5-1, so what does that tell you?
What it should tell you is that I was doing a lot of running. Apparently not fast enough, because I kept finding myself looking (usually huddled over thinking about the ER)at the back of the opposing player running and freely kicking a shot on goal or passing to someone who did.
Back in third grade my teacher was the only teacher who spoke spanish. Mrs. Burhop was her name and she had the opportunity to not only teach many third graders, but to also teach all the students that only spoke spanish, from grades 1-5. It was quite the unique class. One thing I am sure of: we played soccer constantly.
I did fairly decent for a third grader. But after third grade, soccer was a backyard activity. Interestingly enough though, the lastest count identifies either 4 or 5 of those students having gone on to play professional soccer. If I had only tried harder! HA!
Well, my brother and his family are coming up to watch a meteor shower (which because I have been working non-stop, had no clue was happening tonight). So I am excited they are coming up and that we will be able to spend some time together.
Well, I better go do some needed yardwork before they arrive.
Juice - perhaps you should come up and play. If I am not mistaken, you were the first one to mention Soccer Saturdays to me 2-3 years ago.
Also, RBCR will begin (After January) some theology classes again. They have tossed Saturdays around. Thought you'd want to know. They will be DVD classes from Reformed Baptist Seminary (www.rbseminary.org)
